The Power of a Partnership

In the Old Testament God creates Eve as a helpmate for Adam. God also creates a custodial relationship with Adam whereby he is charged with the awesome responsibility of overseeing all of creation in tandem with God.

I am generally reluctant to quote any religious doctrine in my blogs and make any reference to God for two reasons.

The first is because of how emotionally charged the whole topic of God and religion is and the second is because of good old gender bias - God as a male or female character.

I open with the "God in partnership" quote because it resonates for me that the creation story begins with the idea of partnership and duality. From nothing, something was created and therein lies the very spark of creation and the world coming into being.

It is no secret that at the core of the evolution philosophy is this idea of community and specifically the 'sustaining of community'

Community is born from partnership and so underpins everything we do.

So how do we create it ? Quite simple really. We illustrate to all stakeholders that the power of 2 is far greater than the power of 1 provided that the two are in alignment and agreement. If they are not, conflict will ensue and this will be followed by chaos.

I surround myself with this idea of partnership. It exists with personal and business coaches, with my friends, with my children and their mother/s, with the community projects that I am involved with, with my evolution business partners and with our clients.

As such, nothing that I do occurs in isolation and this leads to a richer, deeper, more accountable way of living life.

Let me elaborate from both a personal and professional perspective.

My best mate (as he is fondly known) Brett and I set up a collaborative life purpose structure. It is called the 100's list and is composed of the following:

I have a goal to have 100 KLIK's (evolution groups) by 2019. He and I aim to create 100 mens groups ( a social project we are involved in) by 2021. I am going to hold 100 courses for married couples by 2023. We have a list 100 projects that we want to do before we die from creating a veggie patch where I live now to owning an Audi R8.

We have listed 100 adventures from renting a Villa in Tuscany, working on Kibbutz with the kids to diving with with whale sharks. We love and collect watches and presently buy one new watch a year which we share. Our goal is to have 100 before we die. So some of those 100's overlap, some we will do together and some we will do seperately. What we do together is inspire each other in their creation and their fulfillment .

Evolution is run with a similar ethos of partnership. Each evolutionary (KLIK/Group owner) is a business partner in their group. The highs and low's of each group success is experienced directly as we partner in creating a business with them that is rewarding both personally and professionally.

This refreshing way of doing business makes each evolutionary totally accountable for getting the most out of themselves and for inspiring each person in their care to do the same.

Within an evolutionite context (clients who attend our groups) we create the same ethos. Wherever possible we buddy people up - from carpooling to performing exercises together. We encourage people to get to know each other so that they can consciously and unconsciously support each other inn their individual commitments to creating an exercise habit at sunrise.

And the same can be said of my family (of which evolution is a part). I have learned with my sons moms to work in partnership. To collaborate and share and support so that we all live in harmony with one another and focus our energy on creating lives that we love rather then on trying to fix personal discord.

This same sense of partnership was evident last weekend when i attended the "awaken the dreamer" symposium. It is a symposium designed to alert us to what is occurring in he world from an environmental perspective and what we can do as partners in creation to intervene and support. One of the videos they the played was called four years GO. It is a totally inspiring 3 minute video campaign created by one of the symposium attendees in 2010.

If success is measured by new evo members / trialists then last week was the best week ever in evolution history and it was an eye opening experience. 214 new members purchasing 4 weeks of unlimited training. The first 60 came through in 110 minutes. So perhaps one day we will be able to say from zero to a full KLIK in 110 minutes.

JOI

Jump on it purchasers showed the love everywhere other then Bronte with the primary interest being in Balmoral, Rushy and Balmain. They have purchased 4 weeks of unlimited training and an evo t-shirt. Total value $265 for $29. The goal now is to turn these people into evolution advocates lovers of what we do and paying members. For this to happen they need to have a seamless experience of evolution

Rushcutters - 11 New People

Rushy kicked ass on Wednesday and set a new evo record with 11 new starters at one session. It also marked Kat's first day as the Rushy second trainer. If Rob can convert his newbies his KLIK will have well over 40 members very soon and will be well ahead of forecast.

Software update

The new software is almost here. I am meeting Luke in the city on Friday to run through changes in the CRM and ops section as well as finalising the scheduling. That should be complete by the end of the weekend. The iphone App is good to go and we have secured ezidebit as our online payment solution. SO we can probably stop saying 'the new software is 2 weeks away

30 days of health in Brisbane

Matt's role as the etw marketer is still gaining traction. he is working on a number of projects. They will start to gather traction over the next few weeks. One of the things he did was contact ACP re the 30 days of health and wellbeing. While we could not get anything happening in SYdney he did sort it for Brisbane and Amy has had 50 people register for her classes this month. So Brissy will be kicking butt as well.

Queens Park and Sam and the fishbowl promotions

Sam has just signed two more members to Queens. Hats off to her all round. She is battling the most adversity but is totally undeterred. Week on week she just puts in the work, stays focused and gets the job done. She is securing alliances and is pursuing the fish bowl promotions with Jayne and really kicking butt on all fronts.

The Rushcutters Rush

Got a great email yesterday from someone who trained with us about four years ago. he has seen the groups and utes all over the place and emailed me to acknowledge and congratulate on the growth. he also suggested we consider creating an evolution branded event. it got me thinking. The Balmoral Burn is probably the closest to what we would create. So what about doing something similar on the East. I am thinking the Loftus Road Hill in Rushcutters Bay and the event to become known as the Rushy Rush. Watch this space and come back to me with any ideas

Upwards and onwards in the North:

The first trialists are starting to come thru in Waverton and Rod is also feeling the love as he finds himself for the first time with an evolutionary in support. Paul has been teraching outdoor groups in the UK and feels like a great fit with the evo model and way of doing things. The structure of their timetable will allow both Rod and Paul to come to sessions in the East now and feel some of our love as we crystalise what it means to deliver the evo experience

Cam and Julia - the power of promoting

Balmain and Rozelle are finally blossoming. Julia loved the Inner West girls so much that she asked if she could stay there. The final outcome was for Cam and Jules to combine their resources and passion and open both a Balmain and Rozelle group. So once again the love is shared and we have two groups in the Inner West. They have just started their promoting in the Inner West and trialists are coming through straight away. That feels like a great lesson. There has been npo activity in Balmain for the past three months and no-one come thru. As soon as the promo's start in come the people.

Queens park launch

Our Queens park evolutionary Matt is kicking goals. matt chose Queens park because we heard that Step into Life at Queens park is their most successful franchise. Our goal is to kick its ass and kick its ass we shall do. Matt has started the hard yards. He is also going to be developing the evo alliance structure and will start to implement it in his KLIK. he will be a great resource to plug into as he gets this one right. So use him for knowledge and insight as he shares the highs and lows.

Maciek and maroubra

On Monday morning I went with Maciek to check out Maroubra at 6am. While its clear that the potential is there in terms of the location and the demographic moving in there we were surprised at how quiet it was. Very little people were out there. Thats a good thing from an evo perspective.

Bondi overflowing

Az continuews to kick ass on the Bondi front. A huge endorsement for him are the number of client referals he is getting. That has got to be a sign of delivering an awesome experience. Az knows that his goal is to be full in winter and is focusing on how to do that. he is also proving the model in terms of what the financial reward can be

Coogee and our Cluster manager

jaynie is not far behind Bondi. jaynie now has 45 people in her group and still maintains the lowest attrition rate of any KLIK. She has also stepped into a cluster manager role (along with Rod) swith the opening of Queens and Maroubra. So we are into our next phase. Jayne has been anal about making sure our mentoring calls happen and is taking on the accountabilities week on week. She is 5 people away from 50 and dinner on me

Rob running the running shirts..........and running evolution

Rob continues to be an absolute legend on every level from taking care of logisitics to creating systems and marketing intiatives. he also shows the most consistent growth curve of any KLIK. For the newer evolutionaries it might be well worth taking a feather out of his cap and paying attention to what he is doing. He is clearly aware that it is the little things that make all the difference

Mike as the rover

Darren has been amazing in terms of the commitment he is putting into the Bronte KLIK and has filled my shoes and then some. The group love him and the content is awesome. i feel like i can quite comfortablly start to pull back from the KLIK and become more of a roving trainer. if I can cash flow it I will probably observe more then I will be a second trainer. The key for me will be to ensure that we are delivering a consistent experience in a unique way.

vouchers from the running company

We have secured vouchers from the Running Company in Bondi as part of our invite a friend and receive free trainers campaign. Chris who owns and runs the company provides an amazing level of service and expertise. He films his customers wearing various shoes and performs a gait analysis whci they can watch and see clearly which shoe is best for them. As part of the promo, the person and their friend will each receive a voucher to the value of $150 (total value $300)

Chris will also offer a significant discount on shoes (hopefully cost) to all the evolutionaries. I will send an email around once the deal is secure.

spreets promo

The spreets promo was very good for us. It has delivered us 14 very qualified leads all of whom will be attending 2 weeks of training. They are not allowed to provide us with their contact details but they are slowly trickling into sessions. We were also approached yesterday by a company called jump on it. They offer a similar service and we will be working with them as well.

website and evo software update

We are getting closer. The iphone app is about to go into beta phase and should be loaded onto my phone in the next few days. the evo software should be ready around the middle of April. The new look website should also be around two weeks. I met with Mark the designer on Monday and he should have the revised concepts to me early next week

Onwards and Upwards - Week of 28 Oct

I thought it would be a good idea to create this update as a blog so we get to collect all our successes in one place and reflect on them on those days when reflecting is the order of the day.



My goal is to complete this weekly and in addition to keep the evo blog going as well and a more technical blog on system based changes and updates (that's a mouth full)



The onwards and upwards blog is intended for the eyes of evolutionaries only - the evolution of evolution is intended for all

So here is the upwards onwards list for the past couple of weeks:

Uniforms:
It has been a mission but they are finally here. The evo logos are being put on tomorrow and i will be able to pick them up close of business on Friday. On Monday we are all going to be looking very dapper in our new silver and black uniforms.


Amy mentoring
The Paddington (Brisbane) KLIK is probably operating the most effectively of all KLIKS anywhere at the moment. Amy seems to be following the system more consistently and more diligently then anybody else and the results are showing. She is seeking alliance partners, she is actively marketing, she is updating her software and follow the client trial process to a tee. she is also ensuring that we have our weekly mentoring calls. Week on week we create specific actions and week on week we look at whats been done, what has not been done, what has worked and what has not worked.

Following on from that i would like all evolutionaries to book in a fortnightly mentoring call with me. it will be a standard time slot and our opportunity to maintain continuity within your KLIK's evolution

The blog
Creating the blog feels like a real win for me. I am starting to understand why it is imperative as a way fr us to express our visions and align ourselves culturally - as Jaynie says "it takes team work to make the dream work"

Referral coming through
There is a steady stream of trial registrations for all KLIKS. Amy seems to be the best at maintaining between 4 and 7 new trial clients per week. Pick her brain and find out what she is doing. I sent all evolutionaries an email requesting the names of 6 businesses that you wish to work with. i have not received any responses as yet.

Balmain numbers at session
it is awesome to see that Bobby and tric are nurturing the Balmain KLIK potential. Numbers are right up and they just had a 17 session day. They are working as a team and realising the KLIKS potential

Iphone and mobiles
I finally got an iphone as I want to see for myself whether we can solve the group texting issue. if we can everything about the iphone works and there is so much that we can do to ensure a more fluid operation of our KLIK's. I found an application from the USA that i thought would do the trick. Unfortunately it still glitches. I am in touch with the company and we are working on it. Will keep you posted.
We have also found a mobile phone plan whereby you get unlimited phone calls and texts and 2gig of download a month all for $114. Both Azza and I have gone onto this plan so let me know

session with Max at Centennial
46 people came to the session with Max on Saturday. that was an amazing turnout and proves that people are really thirst for knowledge. Max was great and is open to doing the running based sessions again for our clients

Meeting with Amy, Rob Darren
last week I met with Amy, Rob and Darren to look at ways of creating and implementing our wellness program to includes both (life) coaching and a nutrition component. it is going to be a process to get there but in saying that we are going to create initiatives to gauge interest. We are thinking that next year we are going to have a presentation one night a month where people can come and ask questions, learn and expose their friends and family to the evolution way.

The garage
It felt really good to go into the garage on the weekend and see how tidy everything was. All the barbells had been stacked properly and everything was in its place. I know it takes an effort to do that and i really appreciate it especially as i have invested thousands of dollars in equipment. Moments like that endorse for me that we are all on the same page and supporting one another.
